Councillor Vacancy
There are currently three vacancies for Councillor on Lapford Parish Council. The Parish Council invites anyone who wishes to apply to be considered as a Councillor to contact Rob Martin, the Clerk, at clerk@lapfordparishcouncil.org.uk or on 07768 829511. He will then send you more information and a short application form.
The main responsibilities of a Councillor include:
- The duty to attend meetings when summoned to do so
- To consider the agenda and any related documents ahead of meetings
- Take part in meetings, considering all relevant facts and issues on matters which require a decision
- Take part in voting and respect decisions made by the majority of those present and voting
- Ensure, with other Councillors, that the Council is properly managed
- Represent the whole electorate
- Comply with the Members Code of Conduct
Lapford Parish Council meets once a month, and might hold additional planning meetings occasionally as and when required.
